Black Mother Demands Justice After Teacher Allegedly Hits 5-Year-Old Son at School

A Miami Gardens, Florida, mother is demanding answers after her 5-year-old son returned from school with a deep cut near his eye, allegedly caused by a teacher at Aspire Preparatory Academy.

The shocking incident has raised concerns about student safety and accountability at the school.

The boy’s mother claims that when she inquired about the injury, the teacher initially told her that the child had hurt himself with a pencil.

However, after seeking medical attention at the emergency room, the boy revealed that the teacher had struck him with a ruler. The injury required three stitches to close.

“This was a gash. This wasn’t just a minor cut that you can put a Band-Aid on,” the mother told WSVN. “This was a deep cut that required him to get stitches.”

The incident occurred last month, but despite the mother’s repeated attempts to contact the school for clarification, she received no answers for two weeks. Frustrated, she contacted the Miami Gardens Police Department to report the matter.

According to the mother, her son admitted that he had been playing around in class when the teacher, frustrated by his behavior, struck him with the ruler.

“It’s scary because you send your child to school for eight hours of the day thinking that your child is in good hands,” the mother shared. “No matter how frustrated you are, you shouldn’t take it out on that child. It could’ve been his eye; it was so close to his eye. Then he would’ve been blind for the rest of his life. Then what?”

While the child is recovering physically, the emotional trauma remains. The mother has since withdrawn her son from the school, feeling that such an incident should never have occurred.

Despite the severity of the situation, the teacher involved remains employed at Aspire Preparatory Academy, and the school has declined to comment on the incident.

The mother is continuing to seek justice and accountability for what she describes as an unacceptable act of violence against her child.
