Chika Faces Backlash for Posting Photos of New Man After Formerly Coming Out as Bisexual

by Xara Aziz

Twenty-five-year-old rapper Chika started a movement when she first appeared on the scene in 2019, not only because she had fire bars, but because she was a major representative in the LGBTQ+ community after announcing that she was bisexual.

Well, since then – according to reports – the Alabama-born star has fallen in love…with a man, and not everyone is buying into the hype, with some criticizing her for turning her back on the gay community.

On Sunday, Chika, born Jane Chika Oranika, posted four pictures of her with what seemingly appeared to be her new boo. In two of the four photos, the man is seen kissing her neck, and in the other, she kisses him on the cheek.

i said we couldn’t take affectionate pics since we just friends. he told me to stfu (respectfully),” she wrote. “i shut my a*s up. he was being verbally accosted by a nice street-dwelling gentleman and i somehow managed to escape the conversation.”

Twitter and Instagram users began to chime in with their thoughts, suggesting that the rapper was no longer gay.

“Damn Chika done turned in her [rainbow emoji] card,” one person commented.

“Trans man I bet,” another wrote.

“It’s not at all shocking to me women flip and flop all the time even local friends of mine but let a man do it women have all kinds of problems with that such a double standard,” another chimed in.

We assume the CROWN artist read the comments because she took to Twitter to defend her status.

“people are bewildered that you can not only be a member of the LGBTQ+ community despite being in a heterosexual relationship, but also disbelieving that a straight cis man would be with me or appeal to me,” adding that her haters “seek help.”

She didn’t stop there. She then added, “Mfs be projecting hard asf onto people who really just be happy lmao. Just be quiet for once, chile.” She went on explaining her relationship, “It gives me woman confident in her equal masc/femme energy & man secure in his own masculinity enough to love me regardless. Since we’re sharing.”
