Grammy-winning rapper and singer Doechii has unexpectedly canceled her performances at three major European festivals this week, leaving fans feeling confused.
The 27-year-old artist, born Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, was set to take the stage at Rock en Seine in Paris, All Points East in London, and Forwards Festival in Bristol, but all three events announced her sudden withdrawal on social media.
Rock en Seine shared a message in French on Instagram, expressing, “She’s an incredible performer, and like all her fans, we were looking forward to seeing her in Paris. Due to programming changes… ticket purchasers will be contacted via email as soon as possible.”
All Points East, which had been excited about Doechii’s Saturday performance alongside artists like Raye, Tyla, Nao, and Jade, also expressed its apologies to disappointed fans while highlighting the rest of its impressive lineup. Forwards Festival in Bristol shared similar sentiments, stating, “She is an incredible artist, and we were just as excited as you were to bring her to our hometown.”
The puzzling part? Neither the festivals nor Doechii herself has explained why she canceled. There’s been no mention of illness, scheduling conflicts, or any reasons at all. For her fans in the UK and Europe, it feels like the Swamp Princess has vanished without a trace.
On a brighter note, her fans in the U.S. still have plenty to look forward to. The Live From the Swamp Tour is scheduled to kick off in North America this October. So, while audiences in London and Paris may have to wait, concertgoers in various American cities will soon be singing along to hits like “Crazy” and “What It Is (Block Boy).”
However, her last-minute cancellation has sparked a lot of speculation online. Some fans are frustrated by the lack of communication, while others remain hopeful that she’ll return to Europe for a bigger tour in the future.
