Former Alaska Airlines flight attendant Nelle Diala is speaking out after losing her job over a celebratory twerking video recorded on an empty plane.
Diala had just completed her six-month probationary period when she decided to mark the milestone with a dance. However, her airborne celebration—featuring moves that would make Megan Thee Stallion proud—landed her in hot water.
Instead of praise, she was handed a termination notice for violating the airline’s social media policy.
In a recent interview with Inside Edition, Diala defended her actions, saying she never intended to be unprofessional.
“I didn’t think that being so happy would cause something like this!” she said. “I wasn’t trying to be unprofessional—I was just in a good mood.”
She also shared her disappointment in how the situation was handled.
“I put on such a proud face every time I stepped on that plane. And for them to terminate me without giving me a chance, it just was unfair,” she said.
Despite the setback, Diala’s story has sparked debate online about workplace policies and self-expression, with some rallying behind her and others siding with the airline’s decision.
