A Florida woman was arrested Friday after deputies say she intentionally ran over her 20-year-old friend.
Authorities from the Broward Sheriff’s Office say they were called to the scene of the incident that took place at the intersection of Northwest 13 Court and 26 Lane just outside Fort Lauderdale. Upon arrival, they were informed that a woman named Linouria Wilson had run over a woman then fled the scene.
“I just got a call from my neighbors stating to come home real fast, my daughter just got run over from her friend,” Tina Gore, the victim’s mother, told WPLG.
Investigators say a witness captured the incident on video, which purports to show Wilson striking the victim with her vehicle, causing the victim to hit the hood of the car then fall on the street. The impact caused the suspect’s car to spin but she would only strike the woman again, this time running her over before speeding away. “I saw the victim on the ground — head full of blood,” a neighbor named Sherry Linder said.
The victim is currently in critical condition and is being treated for sustained injuries, according to Gore.
Witnesses say the victim and Wilson are childhood friends who began arguing about who smashed the windows of one of their black SUVs.
“I am going crazy right now,” the victim’s mother said. “I am just trying to hold it together for the sake of my kids right now,” adding that “She’s real bad, she has a real split in her head, so I need to go out there to see what is the result,” she told CBS Miami.
Wilson was taken into custody shortly after the incident and charged with one count of attempted murder, the sheriff’s office said.
“I want her to be charged and I want her to do the max because she tried to kill my daughter,” Gore said.
