A grieving mother is seeking answers after the sudden and unexplained death of her 10-year-old daughter, Isabella Pierre-Louis.
More than three weeks after the tragedy, the cause of death remains unknown, leaving the family desperate for clarity.
Isabella, a healthy and active fifth grader, had played a soccer game just a day before she was found unresponsive at her father’s home in Randolph on February 22.
Her mother, Shirley Pierre-Louis, is struggling to comprehend how her vibrant daughter, affectionately known as “Bella,” could have passed away so unexpectedly.
“I saw two missed calls from the father and a text message saying that an ambulance had taken Bella to Milton Hospital,” Pierre-Louis told WBZ News. “She is not doing good.”
Doctors informed Pierre-Louis that Isabella’s father had gone to wake her that morning, but she never responded.
The Norfolk District Attorney’s office is investigating the case, but authorities have not suspected foul play. The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy, and results could take up to three months.
Pierre-Louis is frustrated by the slow process and believes Isabella’s death should have been flagged as unusual from the start.
“I feel it should have been flagged as something odd and suspicious from the beginning,” she said.
The family has hired legal counsel to help them navigate the investigation and find answers.
“I’m her mother, and I’m her advocate,” Pierre-Louis stated. “She’s not here anymore, but I want to know what happened to her.”
As they await autopsy results, the family continues to grieve, holding onto memories of Isabella’s bright spirit.
