Doechii recently fueled speculation about a potential tour with hip-hop heavyweights Kendrick Lamar and SZA.
Earlier in October, Doechii received the ultimate co-sign from Kendrick Lamar. The Compton rapper posted a CashApp advertisement featuring the “What It Is (Block Boy)” artist on Instagram, accompanied by a picture of her Alligator Bites Never Heal album cover with the caption, “The hardest out.”
During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, DJ Envy asked whether Doechii would be joining Kendrick and SZA on their upcoming tour.
Her response? Far from a straightforward “yes” or “no.” Instead, Doechii flashed a knowing grin that hinted at the possibility without giving much away. “I have not met Kendrick, I don’t know what Kendrick has up his sleeve,” she said, adding, “I don’t know what’s to come, but I know that I am prepared to receive any opportunity that comes my way… But truly, I have no idea.”
The ambiguity of her answer has sparked plenty of excitement among fans who are eager to see the “Crazy” rapper expand her live performances.
Lamar and Doechii have not officially worked together yet, although she stated in her interview with “The Joe Budden Podcast” in September that it’s something she aims for.
I don’t assume anything, and I also don’t feel entitled to a Kendrick feature, but I would absolutely love that. I’m sure that for my debut project, eventually I’m gonna ask Top [Dawg] if he could ask Kendrick, or ask Kendrick myself and see what comes from that,” the Florida native explained.
At the end of last month, Kendrick Lamar released his latest album, GNX, without any prior announcement. Earlier this week, he also revealed his forthcoming “Grand National” co-headlining tour alongside SZA. The pair will begin the tour in April 2025 with a show in Minneapolis, followed by performances at 18 additional stadiums throughout North America.
Doechii’s rise in the music industry has been meteoric, and she has already solidified herself as a powerhouse performer with her genre-bending tracks and high-energy stage presence. A tour with Kendrick Lamar and SZA would undoubtedly propel her career even further.
