Since the beginning, ‘Black-Ish’ has enjoyed a good run on the ABC Network. The popular television series has won several awards including an MTV Movie & TV Awards for ‘Best American Story’ and a Golden Globe Award for ‘Best Actress – Television Series Musical or Comedy.’
It appears creator of the show, Kenya Barri,s is looking to find the show a new home. According to TheJasmineBrand, sources claim that he is having initial talks with Netflix.
The news comes right after ABC pulled a politically charged episode of the show. The episode, “Please, Baby, Please,” was due to air Feb. 27th.
“Given our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,” Barris said in a statement. “Black-ish is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community, and I’m so proud of the series.”
We agree that it may be time for Barris and ‘Black-Ish’ to jump ship. We cannot have networks trying to silence our voices at such an important time.
