Since the beginning, âBlack-Ishâ has enjoyed a good run on the ABC Network. The popular television series has won several awards including an MTV Movie & TV Awards for âBest American Storyâ and a Golden Globe Award for âBest Actress â Television Series Musical or Comedy.â
It appears creator of the show, Kenya Barri,s is looking to find the show a new home. According to TheJasmineBrand, sources claim that he is having initial talks with Netflix.
The news comes right after ABC pulled a politically charged episode of the show. The episode, âPlease, Baby, Please,â was due to air Feb. 27th.
âGiven our creative differences, neither ABC nor I were happy with the direction of the episode and mutually agreed not to air it,â Barris said in a statement. âBlack-ish is a show that has spoken to all different types of people and brought them closer as a community, and Iâm so proud of the series.â
We agree that it may be time for Barris and âBlack-Ishâ to jump ship. We cannot have networks trying to silence our voices at such an important time.
