Rihanna may have hit the blue carpet to promote her voice role as Smurfette, but fans only had eyes for that ring and baby bump when the Fenty queen stepped out looking like a glowing goddess in Brussels.
On Saturday, June 29, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky made a rare red (or rather, blue) carpet appearance for the world premiere of The Smurfs Movie. Dressed in a custom seafoam blue-green Chanel gown, Rihanna was serving couture maternity and a whole lot of mystery.
Let’s talk about the fit first. Styled straight from the Chanel archives, her dreamy look was inspired by the brand’s Spring 2003 Haute Couture collection. The sheer, silky chiffon top highlighted her growing belly with soft elegance, while the crystal- and sequin-embellished skirt flowed like a gentle wave of opulence. Finished off with a feathered hem and baby blue patent pumps, the look reportedly took over 840 hours to craft.
But it wasn’t just her dress that had folks talking.

Zoom in on her left hand, and there it was: a massive sparkling ring sitting proudly on that finger. Is it a wedding ring? An engagement ring? Is a push present with extra flare?
Either way, the custom ring by luxury jeweler Reza is the stuff of red carpet dreams. At its center sits a rare Paraiba tourmaline, known for its vivid, almost glowing blue-green hue. The gem is set high to catch the light from all angles, framed by a scalloped bed of white diamonds forming a delicate flower shape.
It’s whimsical. It’s romantic. It’s Rihanna.

As one fan put it on X (formerly Twitter), “Rihanna’s ring looks like it came from Atlantis and costs more than my house. I’m obsessed.”
Rihanna wasn’t alone on the carpet. Standing right beside her was partner A$AP Rocky, dripping in cool dad energy. He rocked a purple and white striped poplin shirt with an offbeat blue-black necktie, black cargo, and classic loafers. With sunglasses shielding his eyes and a proud grin on his face, Rocky looked like the definition of “My woman is a goddess, and I know it.”
The couple, already parents to 3-year-old RZA and 1-year-old Riot, announced in May at the Met Gala that baby #3 is on the way. And based on the vibe at the premiere, they’re stepping into this next chapter with even more style, love, and luxury.
