Lisa Bonet and her husband Jason Mamoa have decided to work on their marriage—weeks after they announced their separation.
“Jason moved back in with Lisa about two weeks ago and they are very much back together,” the insider told the outlet. “They decided to work on things rather than throw in the towel because they have so much invested in each other,” a source told HollywoodLife, adding that the couple’s two teenage children – daughter, Lola, 14, and son, Nakoa-Wolf, 13 – are “obviously thrilled” by the decision to reconcile.
“Everyone is really hoping that they can make this work this time around,” they added.
Last month, the couple issued a joint statement: “We have all felt the squeeze and changes of these transformational times… A revolution is unfolding ~and our family is of no exception… feeling and growing from the seismic shifts occurring,” the statement read. “And so~ We share our Family news~That we are parting ways in marriage.”
The couple started dating in 2005. Two years later, they welcomed their first child, Lola. The following year, they welcomed their second child together, Nakoa-Wolf. Bonet is also mother to “Batman” actress Zoë Kravitz, whom she shares with rocker ex-husband Lenny Kravitz.
They tied the knot in 2017.
During an interview with “The Late Late Show,” Momoa shared that he had a crush on Bonet when he was eight years old after watching her on “The Cosby Show.”
“Ever since I was like, eight years old and I saw her on the TV, I was like, ‘Mommy, I want that one,'” Momoa said. “I’m like, I’m going to stalk you for the rest of my life and I’m going to get you.”
Of the couple’s first date, Momoa said: “We just happened to be in the right place at the right time. actually had dreaded my hair for her. I had dreadlocks, she had dreadlocks. I literally turned around and I see her and she goes, ‘I’m Lisa.’ I turned around to my friend and I [pretended to scream]. I had f—king fireworks going off inside, man,” he said at the time.
