Jenifer Lewis Calls Out Black and Latino Men for Voting Trump: ‘To Keep Women in Their Place’

Actress and activist Jenifer Lewis made waves during a candid discussion with Stephen A. Smith about the voting behaviors of Black and Latino men in the 2024 presidential election.

In a fiery interview, Lewis expressed her dismay at what she described as a regressive and harmful choice, linking it to issues of gender dynamics and societal priorities.

Speaking on Smith’s podcast, Lewis asserted that some voters chose Donald Trump over Kamala Harris to “keep women in their place,” dismissing Harris’s qualifications as a leader.

Highlighting Harris’s intelligence, compassion, and leadership qualities, Lewis lamented that gender biases appeared to overshadow her abilities.

“Honey, they didn’t vote for her because she was a woman,” Lewis stated emphatically. “They didn’t care that she was smart, powerful, educated, beautiful, kind, joyful, fearless.”

Lewis did not hold back in describing the potential consequences of the election results, warning that policies under Trump’s leadership could erode rights for women and minorities.

When Smith suggested some voters prioritized economic concerns, crime, and safety, Lewis dismissed the argument as an oversimplification.

She argued that societal issues like self-hatred and a desire for male dominance played a larger role.

“Black men…they want a man,” Lewis remarked, critiquing what she described as a misguided loyalty to male authority figures. She warned of dire consequences, including weakened protections for marginalized groups and a rise in authoritarian policies.

Lewis also encouraged broader reflection on societal complacency, linking it to the normalization of destructive ideologies through media and culture.

Her comments have sparked significant discussion online, drawing both praise and criticism for their bluntness and the challenging truths they highlight.
