Jericka Duncan has officially been appointed to anchor both the Saturday and Sunday editions of CBS Weekend News.
This announcement follows the departure of Adriana Diaz, who recently transitioned to co-host CBS Mornings Plus, the new third hour of CBS’s morning show alongside Tony Dokoupil.
Duncan, who has been the anchor for the Sunday edition since late 2020, brings extensive experience to her new role.
In a memo to CBS News staff, Adrienne Roark, the president of newsgathering and editorial for CBS News and Stations, praised Duncan’s commitment to journalism, stating that she is often “one of the first reporters on the scene when news breaks.”
Duncan’s reporting prowess was highlighted last month when she traveled to Georgia to interview students following a tragic school shooting at Apalachee High School.
Roark emphasized Duncan’s ability to connect with the communities she covers, saying:
“Reporting those stories is never easy, but in every situation, Jericka forges real connections with the people and communities she covers — in moments of tragedy and triumph — allowing them to share their experiences authentically.”
In her expanded role, Duncan will continue to anchor from New York while also serving as a national correspondent across various CBS News platforms.
She joined CBS News in 2013 and has built a reputation for her dedication to impactful journalism.
