Singer Kelly Rowland made headlines recently after reportedly walking out of NBC’s “Today Show” due to an alleged issue with her dressing room, leaving host Hoda Kotb without a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour.
Scheduled to appear as a guest and serve as a guest host alongside Hoda Kotb, Rowland abruptly left the morning talk show on Thursday, Feb. 15, citing dissatisfaction with her accommodations.
According to reports, Rowland and her team were unhappy with the dressing room provided, prompting them to pull her from the show at the last minute.
Despite efforts from the production team to accommodate her requests with alternative options, including larger makeup and hair areas, Rowland’s team remained dissatisfied.
The production team explained that due to space limitations in the older building where the show is filmed, the dressing rooms may not meet certain expectations. Despite this, Rowland’s team insisted on having a larger room.
When Rowland’s team requested to use an upstairs green room, they were informed that it was occupied by another guest, Jennifer Lopez, who was also promoting her projects on the show.
While some social media users supported Rowland’s decision to leave, with one person arguing that she deserved better treatment as a guest and cohost, others criticized her actions, expressing disappointment and questioning her behavior.
Rowland, who was slated to promote her lead role in the new Netflix movie “Mea Culpa,” has not released a statement regarding her departure from the show.
In her absence, singer Rita Ora stepped in to take over for Rowland as a guest host for the 10 a.m. hour of the “Today with Hoda & Jenna” show.
