Novel Salon Provides Aspiring Entrepreneurs With A Platform To Flourish, Offers Private Suites Without Overhead Costs

A novel beauty salon in Louisville is not just offering beauty services; it’s creating a unique platform for budding entrepreneurs to realize their dreams.

Blitz Salon and Spa, owned by Shareka Alexander-Redmyer, has introduced a business model that provides private suites for individuals aspiring to establish their own salons.

Expressing her passion for giving back to the Louisville community, Alexander-Redmyer shared her inspiration for the initiative in an interview with WLKY.

“I wanted to find a way to give back to Louisville,” she said. “I went to college and the neighborhood, and I just loved it. And I knew that I wanted to do something to help people feel good.”

The Blitz Salon and Spa building boasts 16 suites accommodating up to 24 business owners. What sets this model apart is that these entrepreneurs can operate within the building without the burden of typical overhead costs such as utilities and other expenses.

Alexander-Redmyer highlighted this key benefit, stating:

“You don’t have to worry about the overhead costs that you would have to worry about if you own your own building.”

One such entrepreneur taking advantage of this opportunity is Kacie Crowe, an 18-year-old nail technician. She expressed her joy in pursuing her passion within the suites provided by Blitz Salon and Spa.

“Nails are something that I can sit and do and be peaceful and enjoy doing,” Crowe shared with WLKY. “I’m not going to go to work every day like, ugh, it’s another day. No, another day of doing what I love to do.”

Blitz Salon and Spa marked its grand opening on January 11, receiving commendation from Phillip Baker, representing Louisville’s District 6.

Baker praised the salon’s contribution to economic opportunities within the district, acknowledging the chance for individuals to realize their dreams and invest in themselves.

“They get to be able to realize their dreams, continue to invest in themselves, and have support, not only from another business owner who is going through the same thing but also the city as well,” Baker stated.
