It’s been a few weeks since news broke out about the death of 19-year-old Kenneka Jenkins. Kenneka’s body was found at the Crown Plaza Chicago O’Hare Hotel’s walk-in freezer. Her suspicious death remains unsolved. And there has been a public outcry as many wish for justice to be served.
Teresa Martin, Jenkins’ mom posted details on Facebook about her daughter’s public viewing. The viewing will take place at the Salem Baptist Church on Saturday, September 30th from 11am-12pm. Martin posted “All are welcome if you come in peace” to attend the funeral services as well which will be held at the House of Hope which is a 10,000 seat megachurch.
The death of Jenkins has remained a highly publicized case. Investigators are still working on the case while the citizens of Chicago have protested and demanded that the police investigate her death as a homicide and not accidental. The family has also requested that the FBI get involved and conduct a further investigation.
Despite video surveillance being released, Martin has stated that she will not be satisfied until she receives a tape with her daughter actually walking into to the freezer on her own. Hopefully, this case will become solved and the family will get the justice they deserve.
