Kenya Moore on Her Marriage to Marc Daly: ‘I Lost Myself and My Voice’

Kenya Moore may be winning the hearts of the nation on Peacock’s new reality television series, “Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip,” but the confident woman we see on the show was once filled with insecurity.

“Real Housewives of Atlanta” finally saw Kenya get the two things she desired more than anything in the world— a husband and a child. When the news of her marriage to Marc Daly was announced, her fans rejoiced.

That was until they witnessed the dynamics between the two play out on camera. Kenya, usually vocal and heavily opinionated, seemed to shrink into herself as Daly threw jabs and putdowns at her while on screen. He would berate her in front of her castmates or just ignore her.

Kenya eventually filed for divorce after four years of marriage.

“What’s liberating is to be able to live through it and come out better for it. I’m excited for this new chapter and this new life,” she told Page Six.

Kenya and Daly share three-year-old daughter Brooklyn.

“I felt lost in my marriage,” told the outlet. “I lost myself, I lost my voice and I lost a lot of my confidence and self-esteem because of everything that was happening with the relationship.”

The former beauty queen says she finally realized that she “deserved better.”

“The light at the end of the tunnel … was feeling that I’ll be OK, that I was over being in a toxic relationship and [realizing] that the choices I was making were not right for my daughter — because her mommy has to be happy first and then she will be happy,” explains Kenya. “So, to stay in a relationship that’s not good does not mean that it’s the best for the children. It’s not.”

Her supporters all breathed a sigh of relief. Daly had to go.
