The feud between Nicki Minaj and Latto dates back to 2022 when Nicki Minaj expressed frustration upon learning that her highly successful single, Super Freaky Girl (2022), was not considered for hip-hop categories at the upcoming Grammys.
She directed her dissatisfaction towards Latto, implying that if her “Super Freaky Girl” is not recognized in that category, other pop-adjacent rap tracks, such as Latto’s “Big Energy,” should also be overlooked. She stressed that Dr. Luke produced both tracks, so fairness should be maintained. Nicki stated that anyone who disagreed with this viewpoint was either a “Nicki hater or a troll.”
