The tension between The Breakfast Club co-hosts Jess Hilarious and Loren LoRosa boiled over during Thursday’s episode, as the two squared off in a heated on-air confrontation over respect, airtime, and the future of the iconic radio show.

The drama ignited when Loren addressed feeling disrespected by Jess’s frequent on-air interruptions, including being told to “hush” or “shut up” during segments. “I’m a grown a** woman—my mother doesn’t even tell me to shut up,” Loren fired back, adding that Jess’s comments during a recent Instagram Live rant caught her off guard. “Part of that live was crazy. The ‘be quiet’ stuff? I felt that in real-time.”

Jess, who’s been vocal about frustrations since returning from maternity leave last year, didn’t hold back. “I picked Loren to fill in for me, and when I came back, she never left,” she said, referencing how Loren’s temporary role evolved into a permanent spot, complete with her own segment, “The Latest with Loren,” which replaced Jess’s “Jess With The Mess.”

“Nobody had a problem with my segment until [Loren] started reading right,” Jess quipped, suggesting the shift diluted her brand.

Jess argued that as the original third host, she shouldn’t have to “fight for mic time” with Loren, whom she accused of overtalking. “You’re over-talking. If I already got the job, what am I doing here?” she snapped. Loren countered that she’d tried to resolve their clashes privately, even pulling Jess and an executive producer into a meeting, a claim Jess dismissed, saying, “I don’t remember that.”

Despite the friction, Jess insisted she supports Loren’s talent. “You’re here because of an opportunity that I extended. I’m not sitting here that you deserve to be here… I ain’t ever said you shouldn’t be here. I said, shorty, do the job, amazing. That’s why I said I want it to be her segment. Pushed for that.”

In Jess Hilarious’ first outburst, she expressed feeling caught off guard by the alterations to the show upon her return from maternity leave. She also mentioned that she felt her co-hosts didn’t defend her when facing criticism.

With neither host backing down, the ball is in management’s court. Will they mediate a truce or let the tension fuel ratings
