Megan Thee Stallion is set to host the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, making her debut as an awards show host.

The ceremony is scheduled for Sept. 11 and will be broadcast live from the UBS Arena in New York at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

This hosting gig marks a significant milestone for Megan, who is also up for five nominations this year, including Best Collaboration with GloRilla and Best Hip-Hop, a category she previously won in 2020 for her hit “Savage.”

While this is her first time hosting the VMAs, Megan is no stranger to the spotlight. She’s previously taken on hosting duties for Saturday Night Live and co-hosted The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Her experience and charisma are expected to bring an electrifying energy to this year’s VMAs.

Megan’s recent accomplishments extend beyond hosting. Earlier this year, she dropped her highly anticipated album MEGAN, featuring collaborations with Victoria Monét, GloRilla, UGK, Big K.R.I.T., Kyle Richh, and Yuki Chiba.

As a three-time Grammy winner and two-time VMA recipient, Megan’s influence in music and pop culture continues to soar.

According to The News, the 2024 VMAs will be packed with star-studded performances, including a special Video Vanguard Award tribute to Katy Perry, who will perform a medley of her biggest hits. Other performers slated for the night include Camila Cabello, Lenny Kravitz, GloRilla, Halsey, and Rauw Alejandro.

Taylor Swift leads the nominations with 10 nods, followed closely by Post Malone with nine.

Other top nominees include Ariana Grande, Eminem, and Sabrina Carpenter with six each; Megan and SZA with five; and LISA, Olivia Rodrigo, and Teddy Swims with four each. Fans can vote online in 15 gender-neutral categories until August 30.

MTV will also honor the 23rd anniversary of 9/11 by supporting nonprofit organizations like 9/11 Day and Tuesday’s Children, which focus on remembrance and support for families affected by the tragedy.

The VMAs are executive produced by Bruce Gillmer and Jesse Ignjatovic, with Barb Bialkowski serving as co-executive producer. The production team also includes Alicia Portugal and Jackie Barba, with Wendy Plaut overseeing celebrity talent and Lisa Lauricella managing music talent.
