Meghan Markle, Prince Harry to Sit Down With Oprah Winfrey for Primetime Special

Oprah Winfrey has announced that she will be sitting down to interview Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for a primetime special next month.

“Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special,” will air on March 7.

The news comes days after the happy couple revealed they would be expecting their second child. It also will be the couple’s first extensive sit-down interview since stepping down as senior members of the royal family.

“Winfrey will speak with Meghan, The Duchess of Sussex, in a wide-ranging interview, covering everything from stepping into life as a Royal, marriage, motherhood, philanthropic work to how she is handling life under intense public pressure. Later, the two are joined by Prince Harry as they speak about their move to the United States and their future hopes and dreams for their expanding family,” a statement from Markle’s official Instagram page reads.

Winfrey is close friends with the royal couple. She not only their 2018 wedding at Windsor Castle but also neighbors — both families living in Montecito, California.

Meghan and Harry decided to exit the UK after facing constant harassment from the media. Harry eventually filed a lawsuit against several British newspapers over two articles claiming he’d “turned his back” on the British military after stepping down as a senior royal.

The prince won “substantial damages” from The Mail and the Mail publishers on Sunday.

The Mail on Sunday ran an apology to the prince detailing the faults in the article in late December.

“The Mail on Sunday and MailOnline publicly admitted in open court that they pushed a completely false and defamatory story. And they’ve apologized for questioning The Duke of Sussex’s commitment to the Royal Marines and British Armed Forces,” a spokesperson for The Duke of Sussex said.
