Meghan Markle Still Lives Rent-Free in Piers Morgan’s Head

Piers Morgan is continuing to drag out the Meghan Markle drama and appeared on Fox News host Tucker Carlson’s show to whine some more.

Morgan lost his job at Good Morning Britain for his controversial take on the Duchess of Sussex’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Britain’s regulatory agency Ofcom received 60,000 complaints after the interview aired.

Markle spoke candidly about the harassment she experienced at the hands of the UK press, which she says caused her to contemplate suicide. She also revealed that a member of the royal family had expressed concern about the color of her son, Archie’s skin color.

“Now, is she deliberately lying? Is she completely delusional? I don’t know, but frankly, I don’t care,” Morgan said of Markle to Tucker.

“I don’t believe Meghan Markle,” he told Carlson, adding that he was told he had to apologize for “effectively disbelieving Meghan Markle’s version of events” or risk losing his job. He declared that he would never apologize for “something he didn’t believe.”

The interview went on for an hour.

Morgan, who once admitted that he was interested in pursuing a friendship with Markle, said she was one of the thousands of people who complained to Ofcom.

“I was under attack from Ms. Markle,” he said. “I should be able to be a journalist and question those statements,” although he denies his harassment of Markle is personal.

“Now I walked off for a few minutes, then I realized, this is stupid. I shouldn’t have walked off,” Morgan said. “You know, you should always be able to have a debate. I was angry in the moment that he was trying to personalize this, make it some personal vendetta I have with Meghan Markle, which I don’t.”

It certainly feels as though this is deeply personal. As much as we believe in the power of free speech… it’s surely time for the British columnist to move on from happily married Meghan Markle.
