Meghan Markle Threatened With $10M Lawsuit Over Alleged Injury Caused By Bath Salt Recipe On Her Netflix Show

A Maryland woman is threatening to sue Meghan Markle for $10 million, claiming she suffered severe burns after following a bath salt recipe featured on the Duchess’s Netflix show, With Love, Meghan.

Robin Patrick, who is diabetic, alleges she developed 18 burns and open ulcers after soaking in a homemade mixture promoted on the lifestyle series.

The recipe, which included Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil, and lavender oil, allegedly caused a severe skin reaction that has not healed.

Patrick, through a legal demand letter sent to Meghan Markle, Netflix, and the Duchess’s non-profit Archewell, is seeking at least $75,000 for medical expenses and $10 million in damages.

She argues the program was “reckless” in promoting the recipe without health disclaimers, particularly for individuals with pre-existing medical conditions like diabetes.

“There were no warnings,” Patrick claims. “Meghan should be held accountable for putting out advice that could seriously hurt someone.”

Attorneys representing Markle pushed back in a statement, arguing Patrick failed to read existing warnings on the Epsom salt packaging, which recommend diabetics consult a doctor before use.

They assert Markle and the production team could not have “foreseen such a result”, and maintain there is no legal basis for the claim.

Despite the pushback, Patrick says she’s open to settling the case outside of court.

With Love, Meghan, a wellness-focused series featuring Markle’s personal recipes and home remedies, has been popular among fans of natural self-care. However, this is the first legal challenge tied to the show’s content.

As of now, no formal lawsuit has been filed in court. Patrick has indicated she is willing to settle out of court.
