Denise Campbell and her daughters, Chantel and Charnel, are not just a family, they’re also a team of flight attendants soaring through the skies together.
With a combined experience of over 30 years at Southwest Airlines, this trio recently had the unique opportunity to work side by side on a flight, a moment that filled them with immense pride.
Denise’s journey into the aviation industry began in 2007, fulfilling a dream she had harbored since high school.
However, she waited until her daughters were older before taking the plunge. Now, with 17 years of experience under her belt, Denise has become an inspiration for her daughters, who followed in her footsteps to join the airline industry.
Their shared adventure started seven years ago when all three attended the same customer service and support class before embarking on their careers as flight attendants.
“It does give you a sense of pride,” Denise shared with WLBT. “You think about when you were younger and what you thought they were going to do, and now they do the same as you.”
Despite being in the same line of work for seven years, the trio has only had the chance to fly together three times.
Their first flight together, on New Year’s Eve in St. Louis, marked their first year in their new career.
Since then, they’ve synchronized their schedules for special occasions like Christmas and New Year’s, ensuring they’re not completely apart during the holidays.
“It’s so much fun; it’s not work when you’re working with family,” Chantel expressed. “We have a great time, and we get to go out and explore new cities together.”
Their most recent flight took them to New Orleans, where they seized the opportunity to explore Bourbon Street and indulge their foodie passions between flights.
Beyond their personal bond, their teamwork leaves a positive impression on passengers as well, creating a unique and memorable experience for all on board.
