A Milwaukee family is shattered after a 30-year-old mother of four, Ashley Hudson, was fatally shot late Monday night, June 16—allegedly by her own 15-year-old brother, in a harrowing scene captured on a stranger’s Facebook livestream.
What appeared to be a single moment of violence was, in reality, years in the making, marked by disturbing allegations of family abuse, threats, and ignored pleas for protection.
I’m in fear she is going to kill me…
Court records reveal that Ashley foresaw her death. In 2023, she filed for a restraining order against her mother and 21-year-old sister, outlining a pattern of abuse and escalating threats.
In her petition, Ashley wrote:
“I’m not safe. I’m [in] fear she is going to kill me. If something happens to me, she did it, and I want somebody to believe that I’m fearing for my life and afraid she is going to take me off this earth forever.”
The documents detail several chilling incidents:
- Her mother allegedly brought a gun to her home and later followed Ashley in a vehicle, attempting to shoot her.
- Her 21-year-old sister was accused of trying to attack her while she walked her dog, threatening to return and shoot her.
Violence Comes to a Head
According to Fox 6 News, Ashley was gunned down during a late-night confrontation that turned deadly. Her 15-year-old brother—now in custody—allegedly pulled the trigger.
Her 16- and 21-year-old sisters, also present, have also been arrested.
Ashley’s uncle, Anthony Hudson, said the tragic chain of events began with long-standing conflicts between Ashley and her mother, which eventually drew the siblings into a volatile dynamic.
He also stated that some of the family members involved suffer from mental health issues.
A Deadly Setup?
CBS 58 reports that Ashley’s mother allegedly drove the teenagers to the scene, intent on fighting her daughter—an act authorities suggest may have been premeditated.
Ashley’s uncle also said the 15-year-old brother returned to the scene after the shooting, expressing remorse, but the damage had already been done.
So far, police have not confirmed whether the mother will face charges, despite the victim’s prior allegations and protective filings.

Ashley leaves behind four children, who now must grow up without their mother, and within the shadow of a family tragedy that unfolded in broad daylight online and in plain sight through the legal system.
Community members and advocates are now calling for greater protections for domestic abuse victims, especially in cases involving family members where red flags are often dismissed or misunderstood.
