“Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” star Mary Cosby’s estranged parents claims that the reality television star did not want to marry her step-grandfather, Robert Cosby, Sr.
Mary’s parents headed to “Up and Adam Live,” where they made several startling claims.
“Mary was not Bob Cosby’s first choice,” her father insists. “She does not want to be married to her step-grandfather; she never did want to be married to him.”
The father of the controversial pastor says her step-grandfather used her late grandmother’s words and twisted them to get her to marry him. He also bombarded her with expensive gifts. “He convinced her by saying, ‘Mama wanted you to marry me,’ plus here’s a couple hundred thousand dollars, and it’s your birthday; here’s a BMW,” her father continued.
Mary’s estranged father also doubled down on the rumors that the Cosby’s church is really a cult.
“She needs to remove herself very quickly because, under Bob Cosby, it is a cult,” he urges.
Mary faced heavy backlash after a former member of Faith Temple named Cameron Williams alleged that he had suffered religious trauma after supposedly mortgaging his home and giving Mary $300,000. He has since passed away.
She has repeatedly denied rumors that she’s running a cult. This month, she decided to skip out on the season two reunion to avoid questions over allegations of racism and cult rumors.
“She was terrified of getting grilled about her ‘racist’ comments made toward Jennie [Nguyen] and Jen [Shah],” a source told Page Six. “She also did not want to discuss the accusations that she runs a cult. Skipping out on the reunion is a big no-no for ‘Housewives,” the source added.
“This was the kiss of death for Mary. She hardly has any alliances left in the cast, who hoped she would have shown up to the reunion to take accountability for her behavior and the allegations about her church.”
