The “Icy Girl” rapper became the center of a social media frenzy after a woman claiming to be her former road manager accused her of serious wrongdoing.
Maybach May, the woman behind the accusations, unleashed a lengthy Twitter thread earlier this week, claiming that Saweetie owed her money for facilitating appearances and collaborations abroad. She went on to say that Saweetie had become too “comfortable” with Jadon Sancho and instructed him not to pay what he owed.
But the accusations didn’t stop there. May accused the “Tap In” artist of drug use and even suggested that Saweetie was an “escort for hire.” Her tweets included screenshots and messages she claimed were evidence, though many fans pointed out inconsistencies and a lack of context.
Before the situation could escalate further, Saweetie made a strong and professional response that left no doubt about her stance. “The recent accusations made about me are false, defamatory, and deeply disturbing,” she stated on Friday. “These claims misrepresent the facts and are solely aimed to damage my reputation. This person never managed me. She was simply introduced to me by family. Her motives are now obvious. I’ll let the lawyers take it from here.”
