Queens megastar Nicki Minaj is a fave among realtors who market palatial homes in the Los Angeles area, mostly because she’s known in those circles to constantly rent mansions for short periods of time. So it may be hard for them to swallow the news that the Chun-Li rapper is officially a certified homeowner.
The 40-year-old mother of one recently purchased a $19.5 million sprawling Hidden Hills estate boasting eight bedrooms, nine bathrooms, two powder rooms, a detached guesthouse, cabana, saltwater pool and Baja shelf, according to TMZ. The entire property spans 12,000 square feet.
“The main house itself has pocketing glass doors that open to various patios and terraces, and the upstairs master suite offers a private balcony overlooking the backyard,” according to the outlet. The mansion also comes equipped with a built-in balcony facing an enormous backyard taking up acres of space.
Prior to the big purchase, Minaj was renting out a mansion in Calabasas at $30,000 a month, where she lived with her two-year-old son (whose name has still not been revealed) and her husband of four years, Kenneth “Zoo” Petty. Before then, she rented a Beverly Hills mansion where robbers stole $200,000 worth of jewelry and other property. She would leave the home soon after.
News of her purchasing the mansion comes just weeks after the Anaconda rapper turned 40. In addition to buying her first home, the star has much to celebrate after announcing she’s working on her fifth album, which she says will take fans back to where it all started – gritty bars and underground MC-type vibes her Barbz have grown to know and love.
“I feel like whenever I’m happy, I deliver the best music,” Nicki said in a recent interview. “And in order for me to deliver the best music for my album – which is coming out soon – I have to tap back into the essence of Hip Hop.”
