Serena Williams comforted Taylor Swift after the pop star received a chilly response from the audience at Super Bowl LIX.

Taylor Swift’s presence at Super Bowl LIX was supposed to be another glamorous chapter in her whirlwind romance with Kansas City Chief’s star Travis Kelce. Instead, it turned into an unexpected viral moment when she appeared on the Jumbotron.

While the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles battled it out, Taylor Swift found herself in the spotlight for a different reason.

Taylor Swift’s presence at the Super Bowl was no surprise, as she’s been a regular at Chiefs games since her relationship with Travis Kelce became public. However, not everyone in the stadium was thrilled to see her. When Swift’s face appeared on the Jumbotron, a chorus of boos erupted, presumably from disgruntled Eagles fans still bitter about her “switching teams” to support the Chiefs.

The singer was there cheering on her boyfriend with her entourage of friends, including the rapper Ice Spice, stylist Ashley Avignone, and the sisters of the band Haim, in the stands.

Swift, known for her grace under pressure, took the jeers in stride. When the camera panned to her, she briefly acknowledged the reaction, then laughed it off.

But not everyone was amused. Tennis icon Serena Williams, who had already made headlines with her spectacular Crip Walk cameo during Kendrick Lamar’s halftime performance, came to Swift’s defense on social media. Serena posted a message of support, making it clear that she wasn’t here for the negativity directed at the Fortnight singer.

In a message on X, Williams suggested that Swift ignore the jeers she encountered at Caesars Superdome.

“I love you @taylorswift13. Don’t listen to those booo!!”

Meanwhile, U.S. President Donald Trump also weighed in on the drama. In a Truth Social post, Trump swiped at Swift, writing, “The only one that had a tougher night than the Kansas City Chiefs was Taylor Swift.”

The president’s statement suggested that Swift was “BOOED out of the Stadium” and then seemed to hint that the jeers originated from his followers by stating, “MAGA is very unforgiving!”

September last year, Taylor Swift officially supported former Vice President Kamala Harris in her presidential bid. Swift mentioned that she chose to voice her endorsement after numerous AI-created deepfake images of her, implying that she was supporting Trump’s presidential campaign.

Despite the mixed reactions, Taylor Swift seemed unfazed by the controversy. As for Serena Williams, her public show of support solidified her place as one of Swift’s high-profile allies.
