ShineMyCrown Spotlight: ABC Network’s Channing Dungey #CareerGoals

Black Girl Magic knows no bounds and here at ShineMyCrown.com, we want to celebrate every facet of female Black and Brown Excellence.

Recently hired as ABC‘s Broadcast President, Channing Dungey is the first African American woman in the network’s history to hold this position. Dungey being selected for this position was really a no-brainer. Formerly the Vice-President of Drama Development, Movies and Mini-Series, she was responsible for helping to develop some of our favorite shows including Once Upon A Time, How To Get Away With Murder and Scandal.

California native Channing Dungey has also been a creative hand as a production executive for several major films including The Matrix, Queen Of The Damned and The Devil’s Advocate.

Dungey graduated magna cum laude from UCLA’s School of Theater, Film and Television. She is a founding member of non-profit organization Step Up, a national non-profit membership organization dedicated to helping girls from under-resourced communities fulfill their potential by empowering them to become confident, college-bound, career-focused, and ready to join the next generation of professional women. designed to empower and mentor young women in high school through graduation to “Inspire the next generation of professional women”.

Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Channing Dungey’s rise up the ladder. We wouldn’t be surprised if she scored her own network in the near future. Dungey knows great television!
