Beyoncé has made history as the first Black woman to rule Billboard’s country songs chart with a debut song a few weeks after its release.

The superstar’s new era is giving another Black woman in the country a big boost as many fans are finally vibing with the genre, featuring white artists.

Before “Texas Hold ‘Em” claimed the top spot, no Black woman or biracial female had ever reached the top of the Country Songs chart. This achievement comes after Tracy Chapman made history as the first Black woman to independently write a Country Airplay No. 1 hit, with Luke Combs covering her 1988 classic “Fast Car” reaching the top spot last July.

Additionally, Beyoncé’s accomplishment marks her as the second solo female artist, without any featured collaborators, to enter the charts at No. 1. This follows Taylor Swift’s achievement in 2021 with her re-recordings of “Love Story” and “All Too Well.”

The singer debuted the two country-infused songs shortly after teasing new music in a Verizon ad that aired during the Super Bowl.

Beyoncé’s country-heavy track, “Texas Hold ’Em,” now holds the No. 1 slot, with her second song, “16 Carriages”, ranking at No. 9.

Both “Texas Hold ’Em” and “16 Carriages” are anticipated to be from Beyonce’s upcoming, country-themed album, “Act II” on March 29.

“Act II” is reportedly a follow-up offering to her 2022 album “Renaissance,” which is frequently referred to as “Act I: Renaissance.”

According to Billboard, Beyoncé’s achievement has marked her as the initial female artist to reach the pinnacle of both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958.

When Beyoncé commits to a goal, particularly in music, she proves she’s unstoppable. Despite the Grammy Awards’ Country Music Committee overlooking her 2016 track, “Daddy Lessons,” Beyoncé has returned to the spotlight with an even grander endeavor: a complete album dedicated to the genre.
