The Reynolds family from South Bend, Indiana, has long been a dominant force in basketball, but the 2021 season marked a historic milestone.
Three sisters—Myla, Amaya, and Kyra Reynolds—reunited on the court at Purdue University, forming one of the most talented sibling trios in college basketball history.
A Family Built for Basketball
Basketball excellence runs deep in the Reynolds family. Their father, Steven Reynolds Sr., is a respected figure in Indiana basketball, and his four children have all followed in his footsteps, making a name for themselves on both the high school and collegiate levels.
- Myla Reynolds – A 6’3″ senior forward, Myla was a four-star recruit coming out of South Bend Washington High School, where she led her team to a dominant 93-35 state championship victory. After starting her college career at Maryland, she transferred to Purdue, where she is set to play her final season alongside her younger sisters.
- Amaya Reynolds – A 6’0″ sophomore guard, Amaya finished her high school career with over 1,000 points and 500 assists, a feat previously accomplished at Washington High only by WNBA star Skylar Diggins-Smith. Ranked No. 22 nationally in her recruiting class, she was a 2023 Indiana Miss Basketball finalist before joining Purdue.
- Kyra Reynolds – The youngest of the trio, Kyra is a 6’4″ freshman power forward known for her elite defensive skills. She made history in high school by recording Indiana’s first-ever quintuple-double—14 points, 18 rebounds, 12 assists, 11 steals, and 10 blocks in a single game. She was ranked third in the state by Prep Girl Hoops and could be Purdue’s next breakout star.
Making History at Purdue
The upcoming season will be a special one, as the three sisters reunite at Purdue, a rare occurrence in college basketball.
The Reynolds sisters have already proven their chemistry on the court, having won a state championship together in high school. Now, they aim to bring that same dominance to the Big Ten.
The question now looms—can the Reynolds sisters lead Purdue to a national championship?
