This is not a drill — the trailer for the fourth season of Issa Rae’s Insecure season.

“It’s like, no job, no man…” Issa tells bestie Molly (Yvonne Orji) in the clip, “all of this sounds bad.”

In season three, we watched Issa struggle internally with the politics at her gig, We Got This, before eventually deciding to throw the towel in and start over. In season four, we follow Issa’s quest for work with the help and support from her personal assistant, Sapphire — a new addition to the show.

Speaking to Variety last month, Rae hinted that the storyline with love interest Nathan (Kendrick Sampson) would come to a head.

“We knew we wanted to end [Season 3] with that revelation, and we knew the following season, we wanted to go into it just a little bit more,” Rae said. “We didn’t want it to be some big plot twist like, ‘Hey, I’ve got to tell you this.’ We want that to build gradually so you’re kind of going on that journey with him.”

Viewers of the show went ham last Spring when Rae revealed during an interview with Guardian that she ha not started writing the fourth season — meaning the premiere would be delayed.

“I haven’t even started writing four,” she confessed. “But we needed a break, after going back-to-back for three years. Making that show means nine months out of the year, you can’t do anything else, and nobody wants to feel like a hamster on a wheel. That’s not conducive to creativity at all,” she added. “So much of that show is about our own experiences, so we need to be able to live life.”
