Lifelong athlete and internet personality Danyele Wilson is opening up about a deeply personal decision: freezing her eggs at 35.
In a candid Instagram post and video, Wilson shared the start of her fertility journey, documenting her first appointment at OVA Egg Freezing, where she underwent OvaView testing to assess her ovarian reserve.
While she admitted to feeling nervous and overwhelmed, Wilson also described herself as oddly empowered and hopeful about taking proactive steps for her future.
“This isn’t just a medical process, it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal,” Wilson wrote. Living with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), a condition that can impact fertility, she explained she hopes to preserve her chance at building the family she dreams of one day.
In her video, Wilson acknowledged the grief of not being on the timeline she once imagined—marriage and children by her mid-30s. Yet she reframed the narrative, saying:
“How can it be failure when I’m still choosing myself? Freezing my eggs is not me giving up on love or the family I still hope to have. It’s me honoring both the unknown and the deep desire I carry to be a mother one day.”
For Wilson, egg freezing is not just about biology, but about self-love, resilience, and rewriting expectations. She believes that her story is one many women share but often feel too ashamed to discuss openly.
By documenting her journey in a series of Instagram videos, Wilson hopes to normalize conversations around fertility choices and empower others to explore their options without fear.
“This isn’t just my story. It’s a story for so many women that deserves to be told without shame and without fear. One rooted in power, possibility, and choice,” she said.
Wilson promised to keep her community updated, with the next episode focused on her test results and what they mean for her fertility plan.
