A 33-year-old woman is facing serious child abuse charges after authorities say she struck a 9-year-old boy in the head with a cooking pot and broke his finger for not washing dishes properly.
According to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded around 6 p.m. on April 20 to a home on the 1300 block of NW 111th Street, where the young victim told police that Daniela Raymond became enraged over how he washed the dishes.
An arrest affidavit reveals Raymond allegedly grabbed a pot and hit the boy in the head, causing a large laceration to his scalp. She then reportedly forced him to place his hand on a kitchen table and struck it with the pot, breaking his middle finger.
The child told officers that she continued to hit him repeatedly with the pot across his body and later kicked him in the stomach.

Raymond was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
After a police interview, she was charged with felony aggravated child abuse causing great bodily harm. She is currently being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, officials confirmed.
The condition of the child was not immediately available, but police have described the injuries as severe. Authorities have not yet released information regarding child protective services involvement or whether the boy has been placed in safer custody.
The case remains under investigation.
