In a bizarre incident on Christmas Eve, a Florida woman was arrested for criminal mischief after allegedly smashing a man’s taillight when he refused to pay her for what she claimed were “sexual favors.”
Haniffa Hosein, 23, was taken into custody by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office following the incident in Minneola.
According to a report attributed to Fox35 Orlando, deputies responded to a criminal mischief complaint in the 100 block of E. Washington Street, where they found a man involved in an argument with Hosein.
According to the man, the dispute escalated when Hosein became upset and exited his car, realizing she had left her cellphone inside.
As he attempted to leave, he threw her cellphone out of the window. In retaliation, Hosein allegedly smashed the man’s right taillight, causing damage estimated to be around $400.
The man, who had a past relationship with Hosein but had not been together for over a year, reported the incident to authorities and expressed his desire for her to cover the damages.
Upon questioning, Hosein admitted to hitting the taillight with a bottle out of anger. She claimed the act was in response to the man’s refusal to pay her for a sexual favor, citing his dissatisfaction with her performance.
Hosein was subsequently arrested and taken to the Lake County Jail, facing charges of criminal mischief. She has since been released after posting a $1,000 bond.
