Mae Bailey, a 79-year-old mother of five, is celebrating a monumental milestone as she becomes a first-time homeowner.

The Central Arkansas branch of Habitat for Humanity recently dedicated their fifth home in the past six months to Bailey, marking a joyful moment for her and her family.

Expressing her gratitude, Bailey thanked all involved with Habitat for Humanity, acknowledging the employees, workers, and everyone associated with the organization.

“I want to thank God for you all, you all are a blessing to Little Rock, Arkansas,” she said, beaming with joy.

Bailey is eagerly anticipating hosting a family reunion in her new home later this year, scheduled for July.

The occasion will not only mark a joyous gathering for her family but also serve as a celebration of her achievement and the beginning of a new chapter in her life.

The home, constructed by dedicated volunteers, stands as a symbol of community collaboration and support.

Made possible through a partnership between Habitat for Humanity and the city of North Little Rock’s neighborhood stabilization program, Bailey’s new home is a testament to the power of collective effort and goodwill.

Kelly Fleming, Executive Director of Habitat for Humanity of Central Arkansas, emphasized the organization’s mission of bringing people together to build homes, communities, and hope.

“I think today was a perfect example of that,” Fleming remarked, highlighting the significance of Bailey’s achievement and the positive impact it brings to the community.

Bailey’s journey to homeownership at 79 years old serves as an inspiration, demonstrating that it’s never too late to achieve one’s dreams and that with determination and support, anything is possible.

Her story is one of hope, and resilience and inspires others to pursue their aspirations no matter their age or circumstances.
