Reps for Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are setting the record straight about recent rumors surfaced claiming their marriage is on the rocks.

An insider close to the couple spoke to Harper’s Bazaar stating that the news is “complete garbage,” adding that “It’s not true. It’s literally made up.”

The source further revealed that so-called “palace insiders” were spreading rumors to outlets, including Radar Online and Perez Hilton about the supposed separation rumors, stating that the couple were “taking time apart. According to the publication, the reported source said that “They’re trying to figure out what hit them…Harry doesn’t fit in Meghan’s tacky Tinseltown world [and needs to] find himself.” But speaking to Harper’s Bazaar, the source said it’s all made up.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s relationship has been in the news since they were first spotted together in 2016. Since then, the pair have taken media outlets to court to refute claims about issues in their marriage.

After Meghan and Prince Harry decided to step down from their roles in the royal family in 2020, they sent a letter to editors at several British tabloids slamming them for painting a false narrative about issues between the pair as both individuals and as a couple, stating that their reports were “distorted” and “fake.”

“What [the duke and duchess] won’t do is offer themselves up as currency for an economy of clickbait and distortion,” the letter read. “It is gravely concerning that an influential slice of the media, over many years, has sought to insulate themselves from taking accountability for what they say or print—even when they know it to be distorted, false, or invasive beyond reason. When power is enjoyed without responsibility, the trust we all place in this much-needed industry is degraded.”

In May, Shine My Crown reported that the couple was involved in a “chaotic” car chase pursuit that could have resulted in a “catastrophic” outcome.

According to several reports, the Sussexes were chased by a sea of photographers after leaving the Women of Vision Awards in New York in May. Security detail of the couple told CNN that the pair were in a convoy with Meghan’s mother Doria Ragland when the pursuit took place.

“The couple were left shaken by the incident, although ultimately no one was hurt,” according to a CNN report.

Police also confirmed that “numerous” photographers made it “challenging” for the Sussexes to be transported, but “there were no reported collisions, injuries or arrests.”
