The Shine My Crown #Bestfriendgoals Award officially goes to…Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell!
Actresses Tichina Arnold and Tisha Campbell are set to host the 2018 Soul Train Awards this November. The infamous Campbell and Arnold are real-life besties who also played best friends on the hit comedy series “Martin.”
Erykah Badu, who is a previous Soul Train Awards host, will be honored with the Legend Award for her game-changing career that spans over two decades in entertainment. Singer-songwriter extraordinaire Faith Evans is slated to receive the Lady of Soul Award.
H.E.R. tops the list with seven nominations, while Cardi B and Bruno Mars have six nominations each.
H.E.R.’s noms include “Song of the Year,” “Best R&B/Soul Female Artist,” “Album/Mixtape of the Year,” “Best Collaboration Performance,” “Video of the Year,” and two nods in the “The Ashford and Simpson Songwriters Award” category for the songs “Best Part” and “Focus.”
Cardi and Bruno are up for “Song of the Year” with “Finesse.”
The 2018 Soul Train Awards airs on BET and BET Her Sunday, November 25th at 8/7 central. It promises to be a soulful way to close out the Thanksgiving holiday weekend! The show also tees up the energy and fun of the iconic franchise, which gets its own 10 episode original scripted series–aptly titled American Soul and starring Sinqua Walls (Power, The Breaks) as a young, ambitious Don Cornelius coming to BET in February.
