Fans of Tami Roman, known for her role in “The Ms. Pat Show,” have expressed concern over her dramatically thin appearance in recent social media posts.
On June 10, Roman shared a video on her Instagram Story, reflecting on her long-standing struggles with weight, according to reports.
The video, showing her undergoing a medspa treatment aimed at melting back fat, was captioned:
“Apparently in 2019 I thought I could dissolve my fat away. Thanks FB memories.”
The video, a throwback from five years ago, highlights a stark contrast to her current figure, prompting an outpouring of concern from her followers.
In particular, a May 25 post showcasing various fashion looks has garnered significant attention.
Comments ranged from alarm to support, with one fan noting:
“And the camera adds 10 pounds,” suggesting that Roman might appear even smaller in real life. Another simply asked, “Why is she so thin?”
A more supportive follower advised:
“Given what Tami herself has disclosed, compliments that she looks great are just as dangerous as attacks on how thin she looks. In all honesty, refrain from both. Just let her know we love her and wish her well.”
Roman has been open about her struggles with body dysmorphia.
In a 2022 appearance on “The Breakfast Club,” she revealed her daily battle with the disorder, which she was diagnosed with in 2008.
“Every day is a challenge,” she admitted. “If I see my clavicle and I see bones that’s great to me, but to you, you’d be like, ‘Tami, you need to eat something.’”
Her battle with body image issues dates back to her teens and was exacerbated by a harrowing experience with a modeling agency at 23.
“I was tall, I was 5-9, I was thin. And I went to this agency… that lady ripped me to shreds,” Roman shared on “The Real.”
This criticism led to a lifelong struggle with self-perception, despite weighing less than 120 pounds at the time.
In addition to body dysmorphia, Roman was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes at age 50, complicating her efforts to manage her fluctuating weight.
