Rapper and actress Eve recently opened up about the emotional journey she underwent before fully trusting her husband, Maximillion Cooper, and embracing their marriage.

The Grammy-winning artist, known for her candidness, revealed that the path to love wasn’t easy, as she had to confront and let go of “baggage” from her previous relationships.

Eve’s relationship with Cooper, a British entrepreneur and founder of the Gumball 3000, has been under the public eye since they first got together in 2010. While their love story seems picture-perfect now, Eve shared that the early years of their relationship were fraught with emotional hurdles. She admitted that past relationship experiences had left her guarded, making it difficult for her to fully trust and open up to Cooper.

“There’s baggage we all carry from previous relationships, and I had to work through a lot of that,” Eve said. She explained that her past had created walls that took years to break down. The rapper, who had been fiercely independent for much of her life, struggled with vulnerability and trusting someone else with her heart.

However, Eve credits Cooper’s patience and understanding as key to her healing process. “He’s been my rock through it all,” she said, praising her husband for his unwavering support and consistent efforts to show her that love can be stable and secure. According to Eve, Cooper gave her the space to confront her past while never pressuring her to rush the process.

One of the biggest turning points in their relationship was Eve’s realization that she had to fully embrace her own healing in order to build a lasting and trusting bond. “You can’t carry old wounds into new love and expect it to work,” she reflected. This meant working on herself, addressing insecurities, and acknowledging that she deserved the healthy, loving relationship she now shares with Cooper.

Their marriage, which began in 2014, has since flourished, and Eve is now a stepmother to Cooper’s four children from a previous relationship. In early 2022, the couple welcomed their first child together, a son named Wilde Wolf.

Eve’s story is a reminder that healing and trust take time, but with the right partner and personal growth, it’s possible to let go of the past and fully embrace love in the present.
