Megan Thee Stallion has lost a legal bid to block blogger Milagro Cooper from speaking about her, after a federal judge ruled that the request would violate free speech protections.

The decision comes after Megan sought a permanent injunction that would have restricted Milagro Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, from continuing to post or comment about her. While Megan was previously awarded damages in the case, the court made it clear that financial compensation does not extend to controlling future speech.

In its ruling, the court declined to impose any limits on Milagro’s content, stating that the claims presented did not meet the legal threshold required to justify such restrictions. The judge found that allegations of cyberstalking were not proven to the necessary standard and noted that the blogger’s commentary could fall within matters of public concern with a legitimate purpose.

The court also determined that there was no sufficient evidence of ongoing or future harm. Megan’s claims about potential harm were described as speculative, and the judge emphasized that she could not receive what the court described as “double recovery” by obtaining both monetary damages and restrictions tied to the same conduct.

Further review of Milagro’s post-trial interviews and online content found that they did not meet the legal definition of cyberstalking or severe harassment. The court also ruled that the restrictions Megan requested were overly broad and not narrowly tailored to meet constitutional standards.

A key part of the ruling centered on First Amendment concerns. The judge stated that granting the injunction would amount to unconstitutional prior restraint, meaning it would improperly block speech before it occurs.

Milagro Cooper represented herself in her response to the motion. Despite the outcome allowing her to continue speaking about Megan, she has since indicated that she does not plan to address the rapper moving forward, stating that her platform will continue without doing so.
