Megan Thee Stallion is expanding her impact beyond music as her Pete and Thomas Foundation partners with Habitat for Humanity to repair homes for senior citizens across Houston and Dallas.
The initiative, set to begin on May 2, will focus on improving living conditions for older residents by completing essential repairs designed to make their homes safer and more stable. The effort is part of Habitat for Humanity’s “Aging in Place” program, which supports seniors in maintaining their independence by ensuring their homes meet their evolving needs.
Work will start in Houston’s South Park neighborhood, aligning with Megan Thee Stallion Day in the city, a recognition established in 2022 to honor the rapper’s philanthropic contributions. From there, the project will extend to additional homes, with plans to repair more than 30 properties across both Houston and Dallas.
The scope of the repairs includes roofing, weatherproofing, ramp installations, and other structural improvements to help homes better withstand natural disasters and unexpected emergencies. Volunteers from the foundation’s “Hotties Helping” initiative will work alongside Habitat crews, contributing to hands-on efforts such as painting, landscaping, caulking, and general home repairs.
For the launch, Habitat for Humanity is also renaming its “Let’s Open the Door” campaign to “Let’s Open Thee Door” for the day, tying the effort to Megan’s involvement and drawing attention to broader housing challenges faced by vulnerable communities.
In a statement, Megan emphasized that supporting older generations remains a priority, noting that the initiative is about more than repairs. Through this partnership, the focus extends to providing stability and peace of mind for residents who wish to remain in their homes.
By connecting her foundation’s volunteer network with Habitat’s established housing programs, the collaboration brings together community-driven support and long-term resources, reinforcing a shared goal of preserving both homes and quality of life for senior citizens.
