Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are celebrating eight years of marriage, and this time, the couple gave fans a rare, personal peek into their family life.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex marked their wedding anniversary on May 19 with intimate moments at home, sharing sweet videos and unseen memories from their royal wedding day.
Meghan took to Instagram to document the occasion, posting a series of heartfelt clips and photo carousels that quickly caught the attention of royal watchers and fans online. In one of the videos, Prince Harry appeared holding a cake while the couple’s children sang, “Happy Anniversary to Mama.” Meghan could be heard laughing and adding, “and Papa!” before the family gathered around the candles.
The moment ended with Harry and Meghan sharing a kiss while Meghan softly told him, “I love you,” just before blowing out the candles together.
The Duchess also shared another sentimental moment involving a penguin sculpture Harry gifted her. While showing the keepsake to their children, Meghan explained the meaning behind it and connected it back to the early days of their relationship.
“We were penguins,” Meghan said while holding up a throwback photo of herself and Harry dressed in matching animal onesies. “Because we’re together for life.”
The playful memory dates back to 2017, shortly after the couple announced their engagement and celebrated with a themed costume party. Meghan later shared another image of the two dressed in their penguin outfits, giving followers a glimpse into a more relaxed and fun side of the royal couple.
The anniversary celebration also included two photo carousels filled with previously unseen moments from their 2018 royal wedding. Meghan posted intimate snapshots from both the ceremony at Windsor Castle and the evening reception at Frogmore House.
Some of the photos had previously appeared in the couple’s Harry & Meghan docuseries released in 2022, while several others were shared publicly for the first time. Meghan kept the caption simple, writing, “Eight years ago today,” while also crediting photographer Chris Allerton for capturing the memories.
Harry and Meghan tied the knot on May 19, 2018, in a globally watched ceremony held at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle. Meghan wore a sleek gown designed by Clare Waight Keller, while Harry wore the Blues and Royals military frock coat with permission from Queen Elizabeth II.
Eight years later, the couple’s anniversary celebration felt far more personal than royal, centered on family memories, inside jokes, and quiet moments at home.
