Sha’Carri Richardson Appears in New Kanye West, ‘Beats’ Ad

You can’t keep a good woman down.

And U.S. sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson is singlehandedly proving that fact, as the brand collabs keep on coming.

Richardson appears in a brand new Beats ad soundtracked with a new song from KanyeWest, who is gearing up to release his “DONDA” album. The ad premiered during Game 6 of the NBA Finals and sees Richardson — one of the fastest athletes in the world — preparing to bolt out of the blocks in full Nike attire and a bold red pair of Beats Studio Buds.

West’s new single, “No Child Left Behind,” plays in the background as the tagline “Love Your Truth” flashes across the screen towards the end of the video.

Earlier this month, it was announced that Richardson would not be competing in the Tokyo Olympics after the Olympic roster was released by USA Track and Field.

Richardson’s tested positive for marijuana, a banned substance, and was given a 30-day ban. She would have been eligible before the start of the relays on Aug. 5 and could have nabbed a medal as part of the 4×100 relay team.

“First and foremost, we are incredibly sympathetic toward Sha’Carri Richardson’s extenuating circumstances and strongly applaud her accountability — and will offer her our continued support both on and off the track,” a Tuesday statement from officials at USATF said.

Shortly after her suspension, and subsequent public apology, Nike released a statement saying that they would be standing behind the athlete.

“We appreciate Sha’Carri’s honesty and accountability and will continue to support her through this time,” says the official statement from the brand.

“I apologize for the fact that I didn’t know how to control my emotions or deal with my emotions during that time,” Richardson said on the “TODAY” show. “Don’t judge me. I am human.… I just happen to run a little faster.”
