A 27-year-old woman was gunned down in Federalsburg, Maryland, leaving a community shattered and police in search of answers.

Caryn Brown was found lying in the grass with apparent gunshot wounds at an apartment complex in the 700 block of Gardens Court in Federalsburg. When medical personnel arrived at the scene, the victim was pronounced dead.

Police believe the suspect, Quandre Winder, 26, was in a relationship with Brown when an argument escalated, which led to her murder.

The suspect has been taken into custody and is charged with first and second-degree murder in addition to other gun-related charges. “He is currently being held in Delaware awaiting extradition back to Maryland,” according to a WMDT report. “Anyone with information on this case is urged to contact the MSP Salisbury Barrack at 410-749-3101.”

On Monday, Shine My Crown reported about the family of a 19-year-old Kansas woman who has been left devastated after they received news that their loved one – who was expecting her first child –  was killed by her boyfriend.

Zaiylah Bronson’s body was discovered in the trunk of her car last Saturday. Her boyfriend, Alexander Lewis, 22, has been named a suspect in her killing and is charged with first-degree murder, according to the Wichita Police Department.

Police say officers responded to a call at approximately 11:00 AM from a 911 operator in North Carolina. The operator had tipped police that there was a possible homicide in Wichita and that authorities had received a call from a member of the suspect’s family.

“Wichita police went to two different locations to check on the victim. At one of the locations, officers talked to Lewis and found Bronson in the trunk of his car,” according to a USA Today report. “Police pulled her out of the trunk and tried to save her until EMS arrived. She was later pronounced dead.”
