Singer Cassie has revealed that she is now an independent artist after getting out of her deal with Bad Boy Records.
During a recent episode of Ciara for “Level Up Radio” on Apple Music, she dished the happy news.
“I left Bad Boy. I was able to get out of my deal. So now I’m independent,” Cassie said. “So that’s just very different from the start. It’s so different. And I mean, even now I’m just in a different place in my life.”
Since she split from Diddy in October 2018, Cassie found love with personal trainer Alex Fine. In June the following year, Cassie announced that she was expecting her first child with Fine. Fans were elated. It finally seemed as though Cassie had found true happiness.
Just two months later, the happy couple timed the knot in an intimate ceremony in Malibu, Calif. They welcomed their first child, a daughter named Frankie, in December of that year. The couple then welcomed their second daughter, Sunny, in March 2021.
From the outside looking it, Cassie had everything. But fans were eager for her to get back to the music. They may be getting their wish…
“It’s the place to be, just to own your stuff and just… You could do whatever you want. You could wake up tomorrow and be like, ‘Okay, I want to record four records. And then put them out and it’s mine. And what you going to say?'” she told Ciara.
Now fans eagerly await new music from their pop princess.
