Ciara spoke openly on The Kelly Clarkson Show about a painful experience in her music career involving song theft. She revealed that the producers who stole her work have yet to be able to achieve any hits since.
During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Ciara discussed her challenges in the music industry, including instances where her songs were taken from her to be given to other singers.
She recounted how some individuals in the industry would go to great lengths to achieve success, even at the expense of others.
Ciara shared, “With the music, people sometimes would do anything at the cost of anyone to make anything happen. So that is like the truth.”
The conversation took a personal turn when Ciara recounted her own experience of having a song taken from her. “I would tell you this, I’ve had a song taken from me, and those producers never saw any more hits after that moment,” she continued. “But I’m just saying, you know, another story, another day, another time,” she added, refusing to go into details.
The “Level Up” hitmaker also shared that she had heard the stolen song and was disappointed with the final product, noting that it lacked the same energy and authenticity as her original version.
“Well, I’ve heard the song that they took from me. And I was like, ‘Well, it doesn’t sound like it sounded when I was on it.”
As Ciara continued to delve into her career, she revealed that her hit song “Goodies” nearly ended up in the hands of another pop sensation— Britney Spears.
Ciara explained that she recognized that she was a new artist in the game while Britney was a megastar, so she understood why someone else wanted Britney to have the song.
