Onijah Andrew Robinson, a New York native, has reportedly been detained in Dubai under unclear circumstances after failing to board a scheduled flight to New York.
The 27-year-old, who was dubbed the “Queen of Pakistan” by fans for her high-profile relationship in the country, had traveled to Dubai from Karachi on February 7, 2025.
She was scheduled to return to the United States but was not seen boarding her connecting flight.
Concerns began to mount when videos surfaced showing Robinson walking the streets of Dubai, prompting U.S. authorities to alert their UAE counterparts.
Sources suggest that after her movements were restricted, Robinson was taken into protective custody by local authorities. According to reports, she may have been detained after smoking a cigarette in a public space, an action which could be in violation of Dubai’s strict laws on public behavior, with penalties that could include jail time.
While the exact charges remain unclear, Robinson’s situation highlights the serious legal risks that foreigners face in the UAE for seemingly minor infractions.
Dubai’s legal system is known for its strict regulations, which have previously led to arrests of foreign nationals over issues such as smoking, drinking, and public displays of affection.
Robinson’s family and friends have expressed growing concern over her well-being. Her last known communications were made through social media before she vanished.
US officials have confirmed that they are actively seeking information regarding Robinson’s whereabouts and are working with UAE authorities to ensure her safety.
Robinson’s journey took an emotional turn in late 2024 when she traveled to Karachi, Pakistan, in search of love, where she reportedly formed a close relationship with a Pakistani man.
After four months in Pakistan, Robinson began her return journey to New York but disappeared in Dubai, sparking further speculation about her fate.
