Yung Miami of City Girls has publicly accused South African artist Tyla of stealing her song, igniting a heated online debate among fans.

The controversy began when Tyla teased a snippet of her upcoming single, “Chanel.” The sultry preview quickly gained traction on X (formerly Twitter), with fans loving Tyla’s smooth vocals and style. However, Yung Miami was not among the impressed.

She took to X to express her frustration with a bold statement: “This girl really ran off with my song and ion know how to feel about it, mind you, I played this song for this girl,” she tweeted.

Yung Miami further claimed that she had her own track titled “Take Me to Chanel,” which she had shared with Tyla months earlier. Seeing Tyla’s teaser for “Chanel,” Miami felt justified in her anger.

In a follow-up tweet, she asserted, “Take me to Chanel > put me in Chanel,” suggesting that Tyla’s song bore a striking resemblance to hers.

This sparked a flurry of activity on social media as fans began to analyze and compare the two songs, looking at lyrics, beats, and even the overall vibe. One fan noted, “Yung Miami been teasing ‘Take Me to Chanel’ since last year… Tyla might need to explain this one.” On the flip side, some fans were skeptical, arguing, “Everybody got a Chanel bar in their song. That’s like saying someone stole ‘Birkin bag’ from you.”

The back-and-forth heated up when a follower suggested that Yung Miami was to blame for delaying her release. She fired back without hesitation: “Don’t matter, it’s my mf song!!!”

As things stand now, Tyla has yet to respond to the accusations, and her single “Chanel” is still slated for release on October 24.

And the internet is fully invested in this drama. As the anticipation builds for the official drop of Tyla’s song, Yung Miami keeps a close watch!
