The girlfriend of Tennessee Titans running back Hassan Haskins has accused the NFL star of strangling her during an argument.

According to an arrest affidavit obtained by NBC affiliate WSMV, Makiah Green had gotten into an altercation with Haskins on June 22 after she “liked” another man’s picture on Instagram. She then proceeded to enter a closet in their home and threw his shoes on the ground, causing Haskins to erupt.

Haskins, 23, allegedly threw her on the ground and told Green not to touch his things, the affidavit states, adding that she fought back and kicked him. He then grabbed her, threw her on the bed and “began to strangle her with both hands.” When he let go, he fled the scene.

In pictures Green gave to police, she is seen with a bruised right cheek and shoulder, and a scratch on the neck. The front of her neck also appears to be red in color.

Haskins is charged with aggravated assault by strangulation. Meanwhile, Green has also been arrested and charged with aggravated assault by strangulation and felony vandalism. They have both been released from jail after posting bond.

In a statement released by the Titans, it says the team is “aware of the situation and gathering additional information.”

A Click It Ticket report compiled a list of “80 current and former NFL players who were arrested for domestic violence a combined 94 times. Of the 94 domestic violence arrests, 30 ended with the charge, or the charges, being dropped. Thirteen have not been resolved or their resolution is unknown.

The report continues: “The other 51 cases ended in some sort of verdict. Those verdicts sentenced perpetrators to a total of 49 days of incarceration (minus the time waiting to see a judge). Of those 49 days in jail, 30 were deferred and the other 19 were served by one player. The arrests also resulted in more than 21 years of probation.”
